CONNECT THE FUTURE STATEMENT ON FCC ACTION ON POLE ATTACHMENTS

December 13, 2023

WASHINGTON, D.C. – During today’s Open Meeting, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) approved the Fourth Report and Order, Declaratory Ruling, and Third Further Notice of Proposed Rulemaking as a follow-up to its three-year old pole attachments proceeding

Connect the Future (CTF) released the following statement in response:

“CTF is thankful that the FCC, under Chairwoman Rosenworcel’s leadership, recognizes the importance of addressing pole attachment issues that have impeded efforts to close our nation’s digital divide for far too long. Since poles are typically not owned by broadband providers and with thousands of broadband deployment projects already underway and thousands more to begin in the coming year, CTF will continue our efforts to quickly achieve further pole-related reforms that maximize infrastructure investments and speed broadband deployment to unserved Americans, including through the FCC’s coming Further Notice of Proposed Rulemaking.”
